Things to know before getting a puppy
Remember, when thinking about getting a puppy, you must take many things into consideration. What type of yard can you supply? How much exercise will he/she need? What are the temperments of the breed and can you financially afford a pet should something go wrong? Below are just a few things you must be able to do when getting a puppy.1. Get a puppy check at a Veterinarians office to start vaccinations and get them on a good diet. One dose of vacciantions from a breeder does not protect the puppy from viruses.
2. Be prepared to get vaccinations every 2 to 3 weeks until your puppy is 4 months old.
3. Start your puppy on Heartguard to protect him/her from getting heartworms (transmitted by a mosquito bite). Heartguard Plus will be needed since it has a wormer that puppies need.
4. Be prepared to spend a lot of time potty training.
5. Patience, patience and more patience and plenty of exercise.
